Messner Carpet—Rugs—Flooring statement on flooring safety standards
Rochester, NY: In response to recent news stories about the safety of locally available laminate flooring, Messner Carpet—Rugs—Flooring issued the following statement:
Messner customers can be assured that the products we install in their homes meet the highest standards of quality and safety. While we have no comment on the recent news reports about another retailer, the products carried by Messner are safe, ethically produced, and meet or exceed federal standards. We require from our suppliers strict adherence to all environmental, health, and safety requirements of the U.S. government, the California Air Resources Board, and the Forest Stewardship Council.
As a result of the recent controversy over unacceptable formaldehyde emissions in one retailer’s laminate flooring, we have received additional confirmation from our suppliers confirming their testing practices, certification, and product compliance. Messner only deals with companies who take these standards seriously, every single day. We remain committed to providing only the best products and the best service to our valued customers.
