Commercial Sales Representative
It’s the relationships that set Messner, and Ted, apart.
When did you join the company? I’ve worked for Messner off and on since 2003 and became a full-time employee in March, 2013.
What is your role? I generally work with our company’s long-term customers, including schools, commercial parks, and nursing homes. One client, an area nursing home, was my grandfather’s first client 50 years ago, which started our company! Many of our accounts are non-profits, and we are proud to support their missions.
What do you like about your work? Working with long-term customers enables me to develop relationships over time which allows me to understand and meet their needs as well as get to know them on a personal level. The great thing about sales is the ability to work with a variety of people in different settings; it’s always new, and it keeps you on your toes.
Other interests? I graduated from the University of Wisconsin and serve on the Alumni Association’s Upstate New York Chapter. I am a member of Friends of Washington Grove Park which involves trail maintenance and removal of invasive species. Anything that needs doing, we try to tackle it.
I am a member of the Rochester Young Professionals and the Young Urban Preservationists, which is a branch of the Landmark Society. I’m also a big hockey fan and play three times a week. I enjoy meeting new people and trying new things. Sales, community groups, and hockey all help me do that!
