Sales, Service and Assessment

Perfectionist and problem-solver. That’s Jon.

When did you join the company? I was an installer working with Messner starting in 1986, and I joined the company full-time in 2008. But we go back even further than that. My dad worked for Greg and Peter’s dad for 25 years, and that’s how I got involved with Messner.

What is your role? Messner doesn’t just “measure,” we assess. There’s a lot more to preparing to install a floor correctly than wielding a measuring tape. I earned my masters from CFI and use that background to make absolutely certain that we have anticipated everything; that we are prepared to install the right product with the right tools and materials. We aim for “no surprises!” A big part of my job and a service Messner offers is to go into homes and restretch carpet, fix holes, and repair seams on installations that other companies won’t stand by.

What do you like about your work? I like talking to different people every day. Every single job is unique, every house has its own requirements, and every day is different. And it’s important to me that I work for such a reputable company.

Other interests? I grew up in Scottsville and live there now. My community is important to me. I’ve been part of the Scottsville Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years, and after playing soccer for Wheatland-Chili High School and in college, I now coach the U17 boys travel team. Messner is our sponsor!
