Vinyl Composition

Color, texture, and inspiration from the beauty of nature come together in our beautiful selection of vinyl flooring from Armstrong and Mannington.

COMPOSITION OF VINYL FLOORINGVinyl is made up of layers. The top layer is the “wear” layer, which should resist stains and scratches. The thicker the top layer, the longer and better your vinyl floor will wear. The next layer is the design layer, which holds the color and pattern of the flooring. That is bonded to the core vinyl layer, which gives the flooring its cushion. The bottom layer is the foundation for the others, and is what is set in the adhesive.

The color and design is either inlaid or on the surface of the vinyl. The higher the gloss, the less likely you can protect your vinyl floor from showing wear. Talk to one of our experienced team members about how to select the best vinyl product for your needs.
